VAN HOOK INC.

We are situated on 20 acres of beautiful rolling land in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Residents have the experience of being valued and respected members of the community while their families find comfort in knowing they live in a safe, supportive environment.

Group home living and semi-independent apartments are available. Residences are comfortable and attractively furnished. Residents are encouraged to personalize their environment with the things that bring them joy, reflect their interests, and make them feel at home.

Dedicated staff provide guidance, assistance, and supervision in a caring, nurturing manner. The administration of Van Hook Inc. has chosen to limit capacity in order to maintain a family-like environment and a personal relationship with residents and their families.

Therefore, for services and amenities not available on-site, we utilize community resources which provide invaluable socialization opportunities for residents.

THREE GENERATIONS OF SERVICE

Eighty-six years and three generations ago, Claude Van Hook, Sr. recognized the need for quality residential care for people with intellectual disabilities.

In response to this need, he founded the Van Hook School of Sea Isle, New Jersey. Determined to avoid an institutional atmosphere, Mr. Van Hook provided residents with a warm, family-like environment and began a tradition that continues today. Read more about Van Hook Inc. History.
